Retro ✅ tobacco TROOST SLICES - year 1973

🏺 I bought Dutch tobacco TROOST SLICES as a high school graduate in 1973 for about 15 Kčs. Its mild, naturally sweet flavor with nutty and earthy undertones of Burley, and aroma reminiscent of freshly baked bread, honey, butter cookies, and cinnamon. "Cavendish" is not a separate variety of tobacco, but a method of processing where the tobacco blend is pressed into blocks, which are then heated and undergo fermentation. Production under the original Dutch brand J. & A.C. van Rossem, established in 1750 in Rotterdam, ended in 1990.

✅ A briar pipe without a manufacturer label intended for the domestic market could be purchased in 1973 for about 17 Kčs (the average monthly gross salary in 1973 was 2164 Kčs).

‍🔥 Finding a replacement for Troost Slices in 2026 was difficult, and even AI couldn't find a suitable alternative. If I want to indulge in some retro smoking while conserving my precious supplies, I will crush the original "Troost" from 1973 into a pipe with the new Mac Baren 7 SEAS ROYAL BLEND.
