Retro ✅ tobacco TROOST from 1973

🏺 I bought Dutch tobacco TROOST as a high school graduate around 1973 for about 15 Kčs. Troost Special Cavendish was a fine tobacco with a very light, pleasant cocoa undertone and a naturally sweet aroma that made the brand famous worldwide. "Cavendish" is not a separate variety of tobacco, but a method of processing where the tobacco blend is pressed into blocks, which are then heated and undergo fermentation. For the same price, there was also Troost Slices tobacco. Production under the original Dutch brand J. & A.C. van Rossem, founded in 1750 in Rotterdam, ended in 1990.

✅ A briar pipe without a manufacturer's label intended for the domestic market could be purchased in 1973 for about 17 Kčs (the average monthly gross salary in 1973 was 2164 Kčs).

‍🔥 Finding a replacement for Troost Slices in 2026 was difficult, and even AI couldn't find a suitable alternative. If I want to indulge in some retro smoking while conserving precious supplies, I will grind the original "Troost" from 1973 with the new Mac Baren 7 SEAS ROYAL BLEND. Troost Special can be replaced with Mac Baren Mixture Scottish Blend.
