Retro ✅ tobacco AMPHORA "RED" - year 1971

🏺 The AMPHORA EXTRA MILD CAVENDISH FULL AROMATIC tobacco in red packaging was my preferred smoke in 1971. This light, heavily flavored blend was very popular at the time and a scarce commodity. In selected tobacconists, capsules containing 50 grams were exceptionally available for 12 Kčs. At "TUZEX," Amphora could also be purchased in tins containing 100 grams for 4 "bony" (approximately 20 Kčs). Amphora was produced by Douwe Egberts. In 2015, the brand was taken over by Mac Baren, which gradually replaced the original packaging and some recipes with others.

✅ A briar pipe without a manufacturer's label intended for the Czech market comes from the same era as the tobacco and was available in tobacconists for about 15 Kčs (the average monthly gross salary in 1971 was 1997 Kčs).

‍🔥 The same Amphora tobacco packed into the same pipe after more than half a century no longer has the original aroma. If I want to enjoy the scent and nostalgia, I mix the original "red" Amphora with the new AMPHORA FULL in brown-red packaging.
