St. Martin’s Smoke 2026 – invitation to the slow pipe-smoking contest in Hradec Králové
The Hradec Králové Pipe Club warmly invites all pipe enthusiasts to its traditional club contest, St. Martin’s Smoke 2026, taking place on Saturday, 17 October 2026, at the hunting lodge in Plačice, Hradec Králové. Join us for a pleasant afternoon in the company of fellow pipe smokers, test your skills in slow smoking and enjoy the interesting vintage tobacco Dunhill Three Year Matured Virginia.
On Saturday, 17 October 2026, the latest edition of the traditional club slow pipe-smoking contest, St. Martin’s Smoke, will take place. It is organised by the Hradec Králové Pipe Club (KPC).
As in previous years, the venue will be the hunting lodge in Kukleny.
A contest pipe and the intriguing tobacco Dunhill Three Year Matured Virginia
Contest pipe: your own Billiard-style pipe. Each participant will receive a tamper from the organisers.
This year, the organisers have prepared a vintage treat for participants: Dunhill Three Year Matured Virginia, which will add a pleasant touch to the contest.

Entry fee and registration
The entry fee is CZK 500 and covers contest supplies, prizes, dinner and venue hire.
The organisers recommend paying the entry fee in advance to account 102694365/0300. Please always include the contestant’s name in the payment reference. For group payments, the names of all participants being registered must be included.
Please submit your entry by 10 October 2026 at the latest, so the organisers can arrange the required number of servings and take care of other organisational details in good time. The contest is limited to 35 smokers.

Venue and transport
Hunting Lodge, Pardubická 246, 500 04 Hradec Králové – Plačice (link to Mapy.cz, link to Google Maps, GPS: 50.1926108 N, 15.7894600 E)
If arriving by car, the organisers advise that you drive through the panel factory grounds.
For public transport, take trolleybus No. 3 towards Kukleny (Plačice) and get off at the Kukleny Albert (Vlčkovická) stop.
The organisers note that lunch will not be provided this year. As the lodge is in a somewhat remote location, we recommend that all participants bear this in mind and arrange refreshments before arriving if needed. A communal dinner of goulash with bread will be served at approximately 17:30.
