Longchamp tobacco container
A tobacco pouch from the French brand Jean Cassegrain Longchamp, likely from the years 1955-1980. The leather and its stitching are in good condition. Unfortunately, the lid was cracked and has been glued. There are two black spots on the leather (likely some kind of covering material). The only defect on the leather is a loose first stitch on the "pipe" strap (see photo).
Condition: Cleaned, preserved.
Jean Cassegrain sold lower quality pipes (with wood defects) covered in leather under the Longchamp brand since 1948 (named after the racetrack near Paris). Since 1955, the Longchamp brand also expanded its smoking range to include ashtrays, pouches, and lighters. Longchamp pipes were last offered in the 1978 catalog, although previously placed orders were delivered until 1980.
